'Waking Up Dead' Movie Featuring Ex-SKID ROW Drummer: DVD Due In June
May 11, 2007"Waking Up Dead", a film about the seedy underworld of '80s metal as seen through the eyes of SKID ROW and SAIGON KICK member Phil Varone, will receive its long-awaited DVD release on June 26 via MVD Visual. The unflinching documentary was directed by Emmy Award-winning journalist Fabio Jafet and was filmed over a four-year period. Bands contributing to the soundtrack include TEMPLE OF BRUTALITY (featuring former MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson and ex-W.A.S.P. drummer Stet Howland),MATT KRAMER (ex-SAIGON KICK),BEFORE BRAILLE, FIVESPEED, RANDY COLEMAN, MINDFLOWER, CREASE and F5 (featuring former MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson).
Varone previously said about the movie, "I traded everything … my family, friends and finances … all for my addictions and the world of sex, drugs and rock and roll. 'Waking Up Dead' is a great lesson on life for anyone who watches it."
